Educating the Whole Child.

Ponderosa Pine Tree Classroom

4th & 5th grade

4th & 5th grade is a great place to be. In our multi-age classrooms, students dive deep into compelling topics through collaboration and research. Teachers specialize so students learn from math, science, and ELA experts. Students focus on research and writing informational and narrative text. Students learn to be critical thinkers through productive struggle and discourse in math. Students engage in making authentic products in math, science, and language arts.

a little about me

Email >

I LOVE to learn. My natural inquisitiveness and curiosity led me to two undergraduate majors that emphasize learning more about the people and world we live in. I have also earned a MEd in Instruction and Curriculum Design.

But learning can take place anywhere and for the last 25 years, I have learned through the eyes of my 5 children, through the lens of a business owner and behind the actual lens of my camera as I captured the beauty of people and places through my passion for photography. I have spent the last 12 years involved in EL Education, first as a parent, as a school leader and as a founding teacher at GreenWood.  I believe in empowering students with the confidence to take good risks that will allow them to do more than they thought possible. I am very grateful for the hard work and dedication of parents who are mindful of the joy and journey of learning. I can't wait to return to the adventure of learning with the amazing 4th & 5th graders of GreenWood Charter school.

I have a firm belief that each student has unique gifts and abilities that will make our learning purposeful, meaningful and fun!

Far and away the best prize that life offers is the chance to work hard at work worth doing.
