Educating the Whole Child.

Giant Sequioa Tree Classroom

Kindergarten

In Kindergarten at Greenwood Charter School we focus on educating the whole child through centers, play, and hands on learning. For Math and Reading we follow the Utah Common Core State Standards. We are currently using the Eureka Math Curriculum and the Reading Horizons Curriculum. We also use the EL curriculum in Kindergarten where we focus on Toys and Play, Weather, and Trees. We practice mindfulness, movement breaks, and social emotional building. Kindergarten is a great place to be!

a little about me

Hi, I’m Ms. Emery! I am so excited that I get to teach kindergarten this year. It is going to be an amazing year! I have experience as a teacher’s assistant for special education and I also taught preschool for a few years, it was the best! I have always wanted to teach here at GreenWood, but I was living in St. George and going to school at Dixie State University until recently. I love GreenWood’s health values and focus on a holistic education, so when I moved back to North Ogden and I had the opportunity to come here I was so excited! Last year I loved my time working with Middle Grove in special education.

I am recently married to my wonderful husband and we have a golden-doodle named Poppy and 12 chickens. In my spare time I love doing projects, hiking, camping, cooking, all things outdoors, and spending time with my family.

I can’t wait to start this year and meet all of the kids in kindergarten. I love working with the littles and watching them learn and grow!
