Our 6th grade ELA curriculum gives students the opportunity to dig deep into academic topics that matter, by using authentic worthy texts. Students will have the opportunity to take learning into your own hands by engaging Universe Sandbox, creating models, and exploring science like never before. The focus of math lessons are to help students to make connections between their academic learning and the real world. Students participate in challenging, but engaging electives throughout the year to help support growth in GreenWood's HEALTH values.

Hi all! I am so excited to be joining the Greenwood UG family this year! I was born and raised in Ohio and this is my first year out in the lovely state of Utah. I am very excited to experience everything that Utah has to offer! I just graduated in May with my Bachelors in Middle Childhood Education and Special Education from the University of Dayton. I got the opportunity to work as an Outdoor Leader with our Outdoor Education program to lead hikes and climbing trips as well as teach outdoor skills to our campus community. I am excited to share these skills and take some beautiful hikes with my students this year.
Outside of teaching I love to spend my days enjoying nature and the world around me. I spend most of my time hiking, rock climbing, taking walks around town, swimming, reading, and doing puzzles. I love challenging myself to grow and push myself out of my comfort zone. I consider myself a lifelong learner and am always looking to learn new skills and gain new experiences.
I believe that my students will provide many opportunities for me to learn from them as much as they learn from me.
The mind is not a vessel to be filled, but a fire to be kindled.
