Biography

My name is Brent Garner.  I am the Special Education Director at Greenwood Charter School.  I have been an educator for 9 years working specifically in Special Education.  The 2026-27 school year will be my first year at Greenwood.  I have a Master's Degree in Teaching Special Education.  My reason for being a special education teacher is my youngest daughter who has disabilities.  I believe all children can learn.  When it comes to those with special needs, my philosophy is that they are a locked box and it is my job to find the key that unlocks their box of learning.  I am very happily married to Shauna Garner and we have six children and seven grandchildren.  As for hobbies, I enjoy reading--especially science fiction, political papers/book, history, and the occasional action thriller.  One of my favorite movies is The Quiet Man starring John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara.  I also enjoy a good game of chess.  I enjoy helping students succeed.
